Spanish Swept Hilt Bilbao Rapier
43" straight double edged blade with narrow 9.5" long central fuller at ricasso and subdued median ridge with subtle diamond cross section. Blade .8" wide at ricasso. Overall length 49". 5.5" hilt with lobe shaped guard and counter guard secured by screws, 7.5" S-shaped guard with forward and rearward swept quillons and bulbous pommel cap. Copper wire wrapped grip with Turk's head at front and rear. Unmarked.

Condition
Good. Metal cleaned to bright in a European manner, with the blade showing some pitting and some freckled areas of oxidized discoloration. Guard with moderate amounts of pitting. Grip very good, possibly rewrapped.
